Son of Thomas Hickey (a Farmer) and Margaret Lansboro. Before he joined the Civic Guards he set up a prominet Butchers on Main Street in Ferbane, County Offaly. Married Agnes Kennedy on 9th January 1927 in St. Columbas Church, Moate, County Westmeath. Retired and resided in Athlone in County Westmeath. He set up Hickeys Bar in Mardyke Street, Athlone. Died on 9th February 1968 in Athlone Hospital. He is buried in Clonmacnoise Cemetery, County Offaly. |
