Born 17th March 1897, he was the son of Timothy Finlay (a farmer) and Mary Anne Dooley. Married Mary Margaret McCrohan on 30th March 1932 in St. Michael's Church in Limerick. They had 6 children. Retired in 1960 and worked as a farmer in Portumna, County Galway. Died on 21st November 1969 in Abbey Street, Portumna. He is buried in Calvary Cemetery in Portumna. Their son Timothy Finlay was also a Garda. |
